A year ago, I purchased a few different books in the Happy Hollister series to try. I had one book set at the beach left to read. Knowing I was heading to Florida, I packed the book in my bag and settled in to read it while relaxing along the Gulf Coast.

The Happy Hollisters at Sea Gull Beach is a fun, clean mystery for elementary aged readers. Centering around a vacation at the beach, tales of pirates and rumors of buried treasure abound. The Hollister siblings are on a quest to find out if there is any truth to the local tales before the treasure hunters do.

The Happy Hollisters continues to be a great series that I can confidently recommend. Often, I'll see requests for mysteries for kids, and this series is a perfect fit. It's clean, problems are handled in a respectful manner, and good always wins.

Use this series as a read aloud or a read-by-myself book for your elementary aged kids.
